About the Artist
Gail Booth utilizes color opposites, transforming and moving paint across a blank white canvas. The edges left by her brush are soft, offering the viewer respite as they interpret and finish the story for themselves. With a pronounced passion for color, her vibrant scenes beckon to be noticed. However, within the crests and valleys of the oil’s texture, a mystery lies dormant, waiting to be uncovered.
Gail Booth’s goal is to remind the viewer of the beauty found in the day to day simplicity of a farm animal, or in the exquisiteness of an english garden, or in the passing moment witnessed in the life of another. With each perfectly placed brushstroke, Gail hopes to rouse the latent spirit of the beholder and encourage them to actively participate in the moment.
Gail has studied with several renowned artists, such as: Joseph Mugnaini, Morgan Samuel Price, Curt Walters, Gay Faulkenberry, Leonard Wren, Don Andrews, Ann Templeton, Mike Henry, Ken Auster and Carolyn Anderson.
Gail Booth’s art is part of a permanent exhibit at the Will Rogers Museum in Claremore, Oklahoma. She has been invited to participate in many exhibitions and juried shows throughout the Southwest, including the Gilcrease Museum in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
